Oh and its an AUTOMATIC
Okay,. So I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum, or if it's posted somewhere. I'm New here, Names Joey, just came across this searching for an ADLD cable, then saw all the BIN of Proms, and figured hopefully someone could help me.
Long story short, I was told my ecm was going bad (eeprom), and while at Pick n pull I grabbed a few ecm on their half day special, Im hoping you could tell me (if they havent been overwritten) what they are..

You are awesome, thank you dave,
Would either of these work with my 91 s10?
What would happen?

PROM chips rarely go bad. The ECM is more likely to fail than the PROM.

What is the PROM code you are using now?

there is a AUMJ-1278.
16051637 isn't a MEMCAL, it's a CAL-PACK, which from what i remember, controls the limp-home stuff.

AMRW is a ~88 S/T-10 with a 4.3/4 speed auto and 3.08 or 3.42 gears

Thank you for the reply, So is it safely used with my engine? Or my year s10 4.3?

i'm sure it would work, how well it works is up in the air until it is tried.

I'm trying to find one that was used in it, or stock. It's been acting real funny. Would some symptoms be bogging down when acceleration, hard late shifts, high idle?

The more likely reason for the symptoms would be vacuum leak, maybe ignition control module sending bad reference pulses to the ECM. Computers usually fail completely or work without issue. PROM chips failures are extremely rare, almost unheard of.
