For one thing motor mounts will be an issue. I have to ask, why put a V6 into that Camino? The 4.3 CPI is an oddball motor.

i have both parts of the mounts i can weld the bottom onto the frame. don't want the weight of a v8. should i just get the tbi manifold, harness and ecu instead. i don't need emission stuff and don't need wiring for a lockup convertor

El Camino's originally had 4.3Ls as an engine option, mounts wont be difficult.

got the motor in the car. mounts bolted right up my question is with the wiring. would I have to send the ecu to get a chip?

What are the numbers on the ECM/PCM? Or what year make model is engine from? Need this to point you in right direction for wiring diagrams and if you can get a chip or if PCM needs to be flashed.

None of the CPI engines had VATS to my knowledge, so factory chip should run the engine just fine.

Assuming this is a 92-95 CPI with the variable geometry intake manifold, and not the 1996+ CSFI)Centralport Sequential Fuel Injection).

WHERE DID U GET YOUR .ADX FILE ?

The motor, harness and ecu came out of a 92 s10 blazer.

i pulled the motor, harness, ecu, tank and pump out of a 92 s10 blazer. never done a fuel injected swap before so I have no clue about the .ADX file. trying to see if i can use what i have to make it run

can i just hook everything up and have it running the way it is without doing anything to the computer or no?

I think it would run pretty good as is. Never have played with the 1992 ECM for these however. I have more experience with the later 93+ stuff.
