I'm new to the site.

Just purchased my father n laws 87 chevy (tbi 350) V20 pickup.

It is all original and has a few driveability issues and I was looking at getting into tuning these OBD1 dinosaurs so this is a good project to start on.

Just put all the stuff I need into the shopping cart at moates.
Just waiting on a reply from Dave as to if I need the socket booster with the 1227747 (tel:1227747) ECM and the APU1.

If not then I'll go with the G2 adapter and be hopefully burning my first chip in the next couple weeks.

:welcome2:

Socket booster is not needed with the AutoProm, just the Ostrich.

'87 is the coolest year! Last year of square body and first year of TBI! I had a shortbed in 1988.

It's spent its whole life in michigan.

90000 miles - mostly highway and only driven in the snow a couple times.

I was was floored when I was looking the truck over and found that it has the original exhaust system still on it.

Whats cool to me is that it's the only vehicle he ever bought new. I have all the paperwork from the purchase and the original title. I'd like to keep the truck as nice as I can and maybe give it to my son or daughter someday (11-12 yrs since they are only 4&5)

Well then super WOW! That truck should be scrap metal from rust in Michigan! I was born and raised in Salt road states and when I found out you could live somewhere without rusty cars I've never been back!

I just placed my order with moates.

Pretty excited to have something other than my 04 Grand Prix GTP to tune on.

From the page here that has all the info about this ECM it looks like this is the bin to use.
AFBW 87 R-V Truck 5.7TBI 3 speed auto.BIN (4.0 KB, 35 views)

Just curious what definition file I should use ?? There is a couple different ones on that page.
