Wanted: Four Cylinder Memcal, not sure what ECM. It must be one with a knock filter.

Some likely donors would be Turbo Sunbirds, 2.2 powered Cavaliers, some PFI 2.5's, and some of the 2.3's

Mark, I have a brand new still in the box Turbo Sunbird memcal that I bought for a project that I never got around to. I will dig it out today and get you the p/n and BCC. PM me if you're interested.

Have several 16173278 computers out of early 90 Grand Am's with 2.3 quad four engine. First one I pulled of shelf is AZDA. Could possibly have several other applications if more year model specific?

The problem with the Quad Four Memcal I have is the Netres is set for TBI fueling and not 4 cylinder PFI fueling. I have one here and it does not run well at all! Now it's been said that some Quad Four are 4 cylinder PFI fueling... so I have no idea which ones?

Ran some resistors on a V6 Memcal to make it 4 cylinder PFI fueling and it runs fine. But I wanted the four cylinder Knock filter as well as not having resistors in Memcal.

But it looks like I going to get the memcal from pmkls1 so no longer needed. Thanks!

Have easily 400 computers on the shelf and even more out in the yard. However our system is set up to search by service number or application. Let me know if I can help.

Well the one from pmkls1 turned out to not have a knock filter on it so that fell through.

Do you have any of those Memcals in stock? If so you can PM me a price with postage...

The trick is getting the right chip. The chip would need to be from the turbo Sunbird.

I think I've got your address. I'll put something in a box tonight.

Just figured we'd start with one known to work first time.

Well if you didn't mail it? Hold off. I did buy a 4 cyl PFI ECM off eBay that got here today and put it in. Runs completely different. Have to put back all the fuel I took out etc... working on it now...

Well, I waited. But no more. Part is packaged and going out tomorrow.

Interesting stuff. Remember the list I posted of memcal measurements? Double checked and V8 TBI and some PFI V6 also measure same voltage as four cyl TBI. Not sure why on the V6 but they do.

Back in GM school days, GM books and instructors said "2.8 V6 pfi fires injector every other reference pulse." Years later I said this and Robert said "Ummm... not here on my bench." ??? Maybe both were true, just different configurations for different ecm's. All I know for certain is this: The more I know about this the less I understand.
