hey guys!
waiting for my new Delco est module from rock auto to complete my tbi swap. in the event i finish everything before it arrives, wil i be able to start and run it in the driveway?

Nope. Injectors won't fire besides no spark.

Don't try to run a wire to ECM to produce a signal that comes from EST. You will burn up the ECM... yes I tried a long time ago... :innocent2:

Here's how it works.

It's a modified signal to square wave, without the EST for a fuel only sytem you need a tach filter.

woops...i meant esc module.....dist has the est in it already.

You got me? I know you can wire without ESC and knock, but to just have it disconnected? Curiousity got me so I looked at a wiring diagram and I would say yes it will run! Should set a code...

looks like i will be wiring my large cap distributor for the tbi as well, that baby just barely clears the air cleaner, but the small cap dist that i have does not turn too freely.

If you soak the shaft in brake clean and clean out the sludge, then remove the gear and work out the shaft for final cleaning, then oil it up they are usually fine. While it's apart you can replace the pickup coil for about $6.

my big dist. is brand new. clears the air claener, better than it cleared the tpi upper plenum.
