Hello all, I'm new here and I'm from Louisiana, Current project is installing a 96 LT1 4L60 in to my 63 Corvette. I purchased the entire donar car some time back and have been waiting for the right time to do it, That time has arrived, This is a complete build from the ground up, I have replaced the original frame with a new one from Corvette Corrections, Installed all C4 suspension, The motor and trans are in, just finishing up some small details before putting the body back on. I'm not new to EFI but this is the first time with a transplant and rewire. I will have to do some programming so you guys will be hearing a lot from me in the following months.

Merry Christmas to all
James

i can help you a lot with that, i've done a lot of wiring on lt1s

first thing you'll want to do, though, is an OBD-I conversion so it's cheaper to tune. start looking for a 1995 ecm and knock sensor; that's all you'll need.

I was going to ask that question LOL, OK, I have a line on a 94 Is it the same as the 95? I have already done some work on the wiring harness, Will I need to get a harness or connectors that match the year model of the PCM? I hope not as I have a lot of hours in this one making it fit properly.

your existing harness will fit perfectly. 96-97 (OBD-II) were simply extended 94-95 (OBD-I). they use the same pins, just OBD-II uses more of them for the extra emissions related sensors. but you DO need the OBD-I 94-95 knock sensor; that's important.

94 and 95 ecms will both work, but something about the trans is different (forget what, im no auto guy) so you need to load a '95 bin regardless.

OK, got a 16188051 PCM, it was in a 4x4 race truck so it already hs been flashed at least once, I know it is good because I observed the truck running and I helped take it and the wiring out as soon as he shut it off, He went to a different motor as he burned up a valve in the lt1, I got it also but he ruined one of the heads, he was spraying it at a 250 shot of n2o without a seprate fuel supply, He is an idiot and didnt know what he was doing. anyway it was reflashed to run just the motor, no trans, so where do I need to start? again I am no stranger to EFI but this will be my first time tuning my own. also I am thinking I need to move this discussion to a different spot on the board, where would be a good place?

Thanks steveo, I will be needing lots of help.
I have no way to communicate with this PCM yet as I am still building the car, Would it be worth my time to build a bench tester?
It may be several months before I'm ready to start this engine.
This is not my only project at this time and I will be working on a few PCM's. One of my other projects is a turbocharged 87 TPI Corvette. That project has me debating weather I should go to a FAST ecm so I dont have to burn a chip every time I need to change something.

In advance
Thanks for the help
