Hey guys,

I know this has been covered, but I haven't seen any reference to 32 bit vs 64 bit OS. I have the following:

AVT-852
FTDI driver version 2.8.14.0 (also have tried and uninstalled 2.8.30.0)
OS bod is set to 9600
TunerPro RT 5.0 (build 8202)

I have tried several ports, both matched in OS and TunerPro. None connect with the "test for valid interface". Is the OS baud an issue? The 8192 that TunerPro is using isn't an option in the OS. Is this just an issue with 64 bit OS's?

I've been going round and round on this one for a few days. Searching the forums, and trying everything I could find. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As a further data point, I can connect to the AVT cable with PCM hacking LS1 flash tool.

Test for valid interface has been known to fail in TP but cable still work. Also the test is done with cable connected to PC, but not vehicle. I've not had to change Baud for any of my cables...

Hey Mark,

Thanks for the response. All of the above testing was done disconnected from the vehicle. Also the red light on the AVT flashes.

After your message, I went and tried to connect to my 2002 GMC Duramax and my 2000 Camaro and I get the same thing. It alternates between da connect and data error! and the number of errors just keeps counting up. I tried to capture a log of this, but it appears that the log file is blank.

Additionally, I can connect to the Duramax with the cable and LS1 Flash (from pcmhacking), but for some reason it won't download the bin. I can see data flowing with the terminal that AVT includes with the cable. A small cap of the LS1 Flash log is attached below (if it helps at all).

Cable works with the hex terminal supplied by AVT. I can send and receive data from the J1850 network.... Not sure what the issue is with TunerPro RT, but it is annoying as it kinda makes TunerPro useless to me. I'll contact TunerPro and hope that the finger pointing doesn't start....

Just wanted to add that Mark at TunerPro has been very responsive. He is looking at adding a AVT-852 interface because of all the recent interest. I'll keep you guys posted.
