TC's also have the analog inputs along with USB and OBD2 cables, for considerably less $

At least from the picture, looks to have analog ports.

Just always looking for a BBD, do want to support the cause though.

But if we can utilize someone else's already discounted deal, why not.

Would rather funnel the difference to the guys (you, antus, dimented, etc.) doing the development.

Just to be 100% sure this will be compatible with the new LS1 flash tool that the boys across the big ond are working on correct?

This will also allow tuning of an '0411 PCM?

No tuning, just flashing. Download the LS1 FlashTool and try it!

I would really like to be #5, as I am wanting to convert my 401 to run on a 411 and am really excited about this.
The only thing stopping me right now, is that the software is not actually out yet. Once its out, tested, bugs worked out, and 100% operational, then I will start my parts collecting, researching, asking questions and then buy the cable/software.

Yea, I see your point. Guess I should say, once its out and working. Once its released and working, will be the start. I will then start collecting parts (harness, pcm, sensors, coils, etc..) while trying to find the best parts vs prices (probably a blend of JY and ebay) Then I will need to buy, mod, and mount the trigger wheel and crank sensor, then last will be the cable and tuning software. So if the program was released tomorrow, it could very well be next year before I get to the point of actually doing the swap.

I wouldn't mind a backup - unsure if my RR ownership allows a second cable purchase via Moates/TC. Not sure the funds allow it right now due to christmas coming up and all, but I forwarded this link to two bright young dyno operators who would find use in it.

But still going to get one of these because they come with the AD inputs for Wide Band data.

Good to know, thank you.

I'm not super concerned with the ADs, I have HP/EFI, and a wideband on my dyno. It *is* the smart move for someone just wanting to get into 411s now, with potential to grow, however.

Wow, sorry to chime in at the last minute. New to forum (as in: first post right now!). Interested in interface cable for interfacing with Chevy L33 EMC. I think my needs are the same as the group here. Is it too late to get in with the group buy? Can one of you fellas provide a cost estimate?

I know your plans are looming and I have no intention of slowing down the process. I'll be checking e-mail regularly about this group buy.

Thanks,

Cables were ordered a few days ago and he did not have enough in stock so built a few. They were shipped to me today. When I get them I will re-box and ship USPS Priority... except for Six Shooter because he is in Canada so I'll have to figure that one out?

Buzz
12-19-2013, 05:37 AM
Regular USPS shipping to Canada is very good, and always arrives quickly - it is my preferred method. Next best option is FedEx (faster, but a little more money). Stay away from UPS for shipments to Canada ... they nickel and dime the recipient to death.

Do I have to go to Post Office and fill out forms like I did for Europe once? Or can I do it USPS Prioroity? I print out the postage from my account on-line and stick it on a box and they even pick up from my porch next day.

Oh, I see Buzz says FedEx, they are very easy for me close by.

Hi Mark ... USPS is the best all round option if possible (quick and cost effective). No extra paperwork that I have ever seen. They hand off to Canada Post at the border. Everything that does not weigh a lot that I order from Summit ships USPS.

JeepsAndGuns
12-19-2013, 03:42 PM
I have shipped to canada a couple times. Nothing really hard. IIRC, there is a small little customs form you have to fill out stating whats in it and whatnot, then its on its way.
Though I do not know for sure, but if I had to guess, I would bet the post office would be more reasonable on shipping than fedex. Both times I have shipped up there it was through the post office. I think I have even shipped something to france before.

USPS for small stuff to other countries!! I've shipped all over the world using them no issues, and always cheaper!
FedEx/UPS stupid expensive.
You can use the online USPS site, and even schedule a pickup they will come to you now.

Hi Mark,

If it starts to look like you may get stuck with that additional cable, I can justify purchasing another spare. You do a lot for the folks on this Forum - but funding software development should be a shared responsibility.

I do have one available but have missed a couple posts. I never received a PM from mecanicman and I believe Buzz was just being kind and does not really need it, but if he does it is his. If not it's yours.

I posted that I have an extra and needed money today to free up the little extra money I had on Christmas to cover this order. But still have not been paid, which left me in a very dire situation this month. Health insurance, copays and medical costs this year have wiped me out.

So decide who get's it and I will send my PayPal address via PM.

I can always order more as we get another group together. AVT has leaned up on requirements for me after this first order.

Gentlemen ... Mark wanted the cable to be sold a week ago ... he used his own funds to make the first "group" purchase happen.

If either of you are in the position to purchase it IMMEDIATELY, then go ahead. If not, I will take it (it would become the third one that I have). I don't mind having another spare, and it would get written off at tax time anyway.

Hope it all works out. Jumping in knee deep. Hva e 96 Vortec 454 I am going to convert to 411.

What software have folks gotten to work with avt cables besides ls1flash. Obviously tunercats but afaik you cant get a liscence unless you buy a roadrunner. Jet bleh. The avt can abviously talk to and has native support for the 96-97 black box ecms. It would be great if ls1flash could read and write to them. Be nice to work on a tune before I swap over so then I can copy my tables and have a real good baseline...

Atleast that is my thinking.

I know a lot about diesel gensets, guns, and women, but not much about tuning :)

Played around with DST and have a copy of westers garage branded tunercats as well. Was hoping the demo version of cats would have reading or writing capability but not so much. Anxiously awaiting the ls1 flash write ability.

Anyone know what tunercats does to communicate with 96-97 black box ecms that nothing else will?

Tunercats doesnt read or write, it's accompanying program Winflash does.

The Wester stuff you have, is it GMT or Diesel. Pretty expensive to get into the Wester stuff if you have to pay for it. The full GMT-2 is $7399 IIRC. Good vehicle support though, 6.5 TD, Duramax, Northstar, Shelby etc.. http://westersgarage.eidnet.ca/DPS-LS1coverage.html

He also sells TC vdf's as well.
John's Tunercats support is excellent, an excellent businessman, and doesnt have a fat head like a lot of self professed tuners do.

Anyone know what tunercats does to communicate with 96-97 black box ecms that nothing else will?TunerCat WinFlash OBDII does do the 96-97 as well as 98-00 Vortec Black Box.

I've tested the 96-97 Vortec with LS1 Flash and does not work at this time, well parts do. But antus has said the software will always be in development for new PCMs after the most obvious need is taken care of.

I was informed there are other Read-Write software besides LS1 Flash being developed for AVT cables... no I don't know anything else...

Munchies

Antus's tool seems most promising. I would love to help, possibly through donation if need be. A straight FLASHING tool with the best PCM compatibility available will sell like hot cakes so it can be made affordable. I think I saw "$100" thrown out there.
If it did all GM OBDII up untill the CAN stuff it would be GREAAAT.

Can't wait for the overpriced tuner co's start squirming.

I havent called Tunercats CS yet, but as I understand it now Winflash OBD II wont be sold separately. All I want is flashing and reading

EagleMark
01-13-2014, 05:14 AM
Well if you look at DelcoHacking.com and see how involved he is? It will be done! Actually it has been done but with some software illegalitys and his product software is all original!

WinFlash OBDII cable and software is only available to people with licensed TunerCat OBDII software. If it were available no one would be going through this trouble of writing new software!
