I guess I never really made an intro here. My EFI experiments started with my Jeep obsession. I bought a 79 CJ-7 to wheel about 12 years ago. It had an AMC 304 v8 in it. I wheeled it for a couple years and discovered the limitations of carbs and eventually that engine gave up its main bearings. I started looking for a GM EFI engine to swap in but had absolutely no luck in my area. The yards around me seemed to have tons of Ford 5.0's really cheap so thats what I went for.
Since I have gotten into full size jeeps and installed TBI's on a couple AMC 360's. My current project jeep/daily driver is an 89 Wagoneer with an LT1/700r4 combo. I did not do the swap but have spent the last year or so fixing things the original swapper screwed up. For the last couple months I have been tuning for fuel economy and have achieved 16.5mpg around town and 22mpg on the highway which is not bad for one of these big old boats. I can't really push it any farther without a wideband o2 but thats on my wish list for some time this year.
