Hi I am new to this, I am trying to convert my 65 Chevy Impala with a 327 small block to TPI, Just purchased
a 87 corvette TPI UNIT, would like to convert it to speed Density, Have been trying to find a 1227727 ECM as i
would like to mount the ECM in the enging compartment, as i have said i am new to EFI i know nothing about
wiring this unit or prom changes i may need, trying to use the internet as a teaching aid. THANKS for any info

The 7727 was used in plenty of V6 applications. The V8 memcal (chip) is expensive to buy new but AFAIK it is still available. Some people modify the V6 memcal to use in a V8 but there's considerable doubt that it works properly. I'd strongly recommend avoiding ebay chips with "knock filter disabled" or "knock sensing turned off" as these are just modified V6 memcals that are not fully equivalent to V8 parts and as such have had certain features disabled.
