Anyone know where to buy 427 ECM plugs? I know I have seen them for sale somewhere at sometime but can't seem to find the link...

I use the local auto wreckers. :D

ebay, if you don't want to go to the junkyard.

EFIconnection also has some pretty oddball connectors, insluding 7727 and 7730 style, so they may have what you're looking for.

Man I wish i had a day to go Junk Yarding. guy up there thinks I'm nuts buying all these wiring harness, so he's cheap for me. His ECM and other stuff is fair as well. But I guess I am the only one paying for EFI hanreeses... He made me laugh, I asked him how much if he pulled them? He said I don't have any... I say, yeah you do! They are here and here and... he says I don't have any... so I finally caught on that he does NOT pull harness and the only reason I get them is I pull them.

Mouser has them: for less than $2.00 each. The secondary locks are less the 50 cents each, shipping is flat rate USPS.

He said they have the pins! Unless he EDITed whan you were typing.

Remember you guys are Mods and your EDIT does not show. Whenever I EDIT I type in EDIT so people know and don't think their crazy.

Thanks Dave!

Yes, both sizes 18 ~ 22 AWG & 14 ~ 16 AWG. All the related parts for the connectors are BURRIED in the data sheet. Delphi does not list AWG, but rather the metric wire sizes.

mouser carry these? or their terminals/seals?

When converting a 7747 to a 427 is there any need to buy differant size metal connector pins? Or will the ones already on a 7747 harness work?

I have hundreds of metal pins with differant colored sections of wire on each. Ready to use if need be, salvaged from old harnesses.

I checked this link and it says
Additional Connector Details
This connector is used with the 1227727 TPI ECM and the 1992-1993 LT1 ECM. Since discontinued by Delphi, we do not stock, cannot get, and do not know where to get the red secondary lock.Is this secondary lock, the comb looking thing that goes in after putting them together?

RobertISaar
05-18-2011, 10:17 PM
yeah, the red comb looking device.... it actually is also used to hold the connector body in place as well, since it has two large locking tabs on it.

i've never broken one before, but it will happen eventually.

i need to get the pins/seals for my nAst1 project since it will end up using far more pins than the factory supplied.

"When converting a 7747 to a 427 is there any need to buy differant size metal connector pins?"

depends on what size wire you want to run in the circuit. if the existing pin has a 18-22 guage wire sticking out of it, and you want a 14-16 guage wire in it's place, then yeah, find/buy a 14-16 guage pin. i tend to solder all of mine and have stuffed much larger wires than intended in the much smaller pins, not necessarily the greatest method but it does work.

If you let me know what color wire and how many of each color I probably have them all with long pigtails. FREE! Just send me a list and I will see if I have them.

RobertISaar

you stock up on 1227727 pigtails too?

i've got a few spares laying around(couple of spare 7730 terminals as well, now that i think about it), but once the parts to my testbench get here, i will be quickly running out.

The pins themselves are the same, between the '7747 an '7427.

Wish I had that many 7727 parts, but all the stuff I have that I have salvaged have been 7747. I bought a set of 7727 ECM Connectors from Dave and he gave me a bunch of 7747/7727/427 metal wire connectors with pigtails. So as of now the 7747/7727/427 are the same metal wire connectors. Although the underhood 7727/30 seem differant.

RobertISaar

you're implying there are non-underhood 7727s?

unless they have some different digits in front, i've never seen another xxxxxx7727 ECM other than the 1227727, which is the beloved W-body/corvette specific underhood ECM.

Yes Mouser has the parts in the EFI Connections link, except the plugs. The pins, and seal are metripack parts. I'm limited on time at moment to search the Mouser site. Weather Pack parts are also available at Mouser. Put metripack in the Mouser search feature. Then refine the search.

http://www.mouser.com/Interconnects/Aut ... ck&FS=True (http://www.mouser.com/Interconnects/Automotive-Connectors/_/N-1ehb5?Keyword=metripack&FS=True)

Most of the time, I have to dig up the related parts of a connector to find the seals and pins from the data sheet or documents.

Mouser also has the pins for the LSx computers!

I could not find the 1227727 pins at Mouser. I looked in my inventory of ECM pins, and the only 1227727 pins I have were purchased from EFI Connections (which Do Not have the manufacture's part numbers). I must have tried to find the 1227727 pins at Mouser before, and could not find them back then either.

i found some of the ORIGINAL p/ns from delphi yesterday, but i'm having trouble updating them. i even found the part numbers for the 7727 style plugs that have no blocked cavities(!!!), but no one stocks them...

12065887 - C no plugs
12065886 - B no plugs
12065885 - A no plugs
