Hi,

I want to hook my tablet computer up to my 1994 GMC K1500 pickup via the cheapest reliable option possible. I have a new tablet, and I have purchased the "ALDL DROID" program. Now, I just need a cable to hook it up. I envision having the tablet mounted in the truck for full time monitoring via a virtual dashboard in ALDL DROID.

Can you guys help me get this accomplished?? What do I buy and what exactly do I do? Sorry, but I am clueless on this, though I'm a good mechanic and handy with wiring.

Also, something about an "ADX File" I need to find and install??

Thanks!!

Hi,

It's been a while since I played around with ALDL Droid, someone else here might have had a more recent experience.
I found for day to day info while driving around it's much tidier setup than having a large laptop with TunerPRO on it.
Although I wouldn't tune without a laptop and TunerPRO.

They sell some BT adaptors, in my case the bluetooth connection wasn't as reliable as I'd hoped but that's not necessarily a reflection on their product.
I ended up using an ALDL to USB A adaptor, then a USB A to USB C adaptor and then plugged that into my phone mounted on the dash.
The BT would have been the tidiest if I could could have got it working reliably.

I could probably figure out how to explain how to find your ADX here on this website but someone like Dave W could probably help you out quicker.

Cheers,
Andrew
