hey all,

i have a customer that is using an 0411 from me to run a 1996 LT1/4L60e, with the 2002 express L31/4L60e tune as a base. I then copied over VE, spark, MAF, and other airflow data to the tune. I also copied over the shift tables and speedometer settings.

(note, its a 1996 fleetwood, which is why i copied info from the '95 impala LT1 tune rather than fbody or corvette)

The customer says the engine is running perfectly, and the speedometer matches - BUT - it wont shift out of first.
The customer says "it will go thru gears 1, 2, 3 manually. Then if you put it back into drive it seems like it gets stuck in 3rd or maybe even 4th"

If anyone could shed some light on this, i would love to hear it. My gut thinking is that maybe the wiring is jacked up somewhere with the transmission TFP switches, and the ECM thinks its in manual 1st, or something? But, i am more than willing to humbly admit that i have messed something up in the tune, so i have attached it here.

Before you chase your tail guessing are there codes? Make sure pcm is sending shift commands to trans or at least the commands show up in realtime with a scanner.

update from the customer, i guess his transmission pan was full of metal so he decided to pull it out and rebuild. will update further if anything changes.

Quick question, is the LT1 running a 4x wheel and a distributor? Or were you able to make it work with the Opti spark?

good question. i think he deleted the optispark although i'm not 100% sure how.

anyways he got the transmission rebuilt and it shifts properly now. so the tune was OK, although he says it makes less power on this tune than it did before. i'm wondering if its because i kept the low octane table from the express van which has really low timing.
