Hello all,
Not quite EFI, but I have a friend with an 89 Caprice and I'm trying to datalog and tune it with the hardware I already have.
I've found a bin and a .ds file for it, but haven't found an xdf for it. Does one exist out there somewhere? Searching the forum hasn't gotten me anywhere.
Thank you,
Isaak

Maybe the 89 Caprice has TBI ECM 1228746

I don't think that's right. This car has an olds 307 in it with CCC, the L03 is a tbi chevy 305.
I know CCC is sorta outside the scope of this forum, but it's all GM obd1 with ALDL and an ecm so I figured this would be the best place to look

Maybe the 307 is code LV2?

I've imported and edited the .ads to .adx, see attached.

Yes, it's an LV2.
I'm not sure I understand the difference between the .ads and .adx, but I'm sure when the time comes to datalog the car I'll be happy that I had both. Either way I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out with this.
To modify the tune I would need another file, the .xdf, right? This is the file I've had the most trouble finding.
Thank you again for your assistance,
Isaak

The current version of TunerPro RT uses the .adx file. Older versions of TunerPro RT used the .ads file.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find a .xdf file. Likely a .xdf file is not available for CCC.

I have a functional XDF file for that ECM. Chips will be the issue.

Would you be able to post the xdf you have? I'd like to try messing around with it a bit.
Thanks, Isaak

This is only for the 307 version of this ECM. 305/350 was coded differently despite the same ECM number. Attached both a XDF and ECU file as well as a stock BIN. Everything should be functional enough to peek around inside the later CCC ECM. I think I also have some stuff for the 8079 and maybe a $40 code if I dug around. I read CCC BINs for a 1983 G20 LF3 California 305 (snagged the spark map as a starting point for my 305 TBI with 081 heads), 1984 Regal with a LG4 and a 1985 L69 Monte Carlo a decade ago but those I believe were lost in a hard drive crash.

I found the CCC setup had a duty cycle table similar to a VE table that operated the mixture control solenoid in open loop. When changes are made to the the engine or carb that affect the CCC system, it is best to setup a histogram table using the values in the table and the commanded duty cycle in closed loop, similar to adjusting a VE table. Adjust that table and the fueling in open loop will be more accurate. The setup I tuned years ago was a 1988 Fleetwood with a 403 that had 1970 W30 350 heads and intake, Mondello custom cam and the Q-Jet recalibrated. Later swapped the 403 to TBI and then again to a MPFI manifold off a Olds 350 Seville using the TBI without the injector pod as a throttle body. Both the TBI and MPFI setup had a 4L60E behind the engine with them.

Thank you so much!!
That 403 with CCC sounds super cool. I'm mainly just poking around on a friends Caprice wagon with the 307, but one day I'd like to get more familiar with the CCC system and try to do something custom with it.
This is more than enough to get me started, I really appreciate getting back to me.
