How much can I advance the spark on a 2000 Chevy Silverado ln7? I watch one of the driveway engineers videos and on a 99 he raised his four degrees all across the board on the base parking here. When I did it my truck wouldn't start.

My truck is stock besides cold air intake and EGR delete I'm trying to learn some ins and outs but don't have much spare time. From the research I've done these trucks were tuned either rich or lean I can't remember and a decent little amount of power can be added just with tuning. What other adjustments came be made for power?

Does anyone happen to have a bin file that's been tuned for power that I can compare to? I'm running a 1256 os

you can advance it till it knocks
whether you should is another story
and how much advance itll take depends a lot on how quickly your fuel burns
and how quickly your fuel burns depends on temperature, combustion chamber design, and heat

I don't understand exactly what you're saying but I get what you're getting at. I understand that tuning is not just making one adjustment and going with it. See I followed something the driveway engineer put on YouTube and my truck wouldn't even start. Maybe has something else wrong I might try again tomorrow

well if you advanced the normal timing table, then it probably wouldn't affect start up
i dont know your specific computer but usually there's a 'cranking timing advance' table or something
what exactly did you change?
