Hi guys,
finally my own car also got some extra power :)
Its a '95 corvette with LT1 (as far as I know they have 4 bolt mains), the LT4 hotcam kit from GM (cam, rockers, springs), some head porting, and OBX LT headers.

I drove it today the first time, but I didn't do a tune yet, as my cable wasn't working as it should and the AFR was fine.

Does anyone have some tips for me for the tune or even a somewhat fitting .bin file for this engine configuration?

-How high is it save to rev the engine, as the block is still stock? I'd go with 6200 rpm now.

-Some tips for the ignition? How should it be compared to the the stock tune?

-I had a strong shaking of the car, when i drove it in idle,750 rpm, (or very low tps) in 1st gear (traffic jam driving). Any tips to improve this, maybe some ignition timing tricks?

Best regard,
Max

Btw: I haven't been to a dyno yet, how many hp could I expect roundabout ?

so you have a wideband?

safe is a relative term. you built the top end car so how well it holds up depends on if you set everything up properly. it's also almost 30 years old so if the bottom end hasn't been apart yet i wouldn't push it too hard. i'd keep it at 6500 if it was my car

depends on fuel quality but usually they take a bit more timing and the curve at high throttle should be different (climbing until the torque peak of the cam then mostly levelling off)

datalog to see what's going on first, but they need a lot more timing advance at idle

probably not a lot, 300hp or something, but who cares about numbers, right?

Send me an email to cwbiuro@gmail.com asking for tune and I'll send You my one, it is '95 SD Tune using WBo2 for lean cruise and 13.1:1 WOT, auto trans with 3200 stall converter.

Finally I found some time to work on the car again:
@WASyL that would be awesome, I send you a mail!
@Steveo Thanks for your Info, yes, I have a wideband.
Unfortunately I still can't do any programming, as EEhack doesn't connect. Since the cam/head swap I always get the errors
"DATASTREAM: Attempting to become bus master...
SERIAL ERR: Corrupt data in echo! Possible a bad serial interface or noise on the bus
DATASTREAM ERR: No reply."

I tried different cables, checked the grounding point on the transmission and one on the right front frame, still no success. I also cleaned the connections on the ECU.
Any idea what could be the problem here? I really run out of ideas..

Hiya,
I don't know your exact situation. I can tell you my experience...Win7 and above it appears Windows has lost its mind on pure serial. A usb to serial seems to work fine. My Dell D630's db9 serial does NOT work with Steveo's stuff. :innocent2:

Hi, the computer is probably not the problem, I'm using it for more than 5 years with my corvette and others and always worked.

Just since it was in the garage for the cam/header swap it doesn't work anymore, I changed nothing on the computer.
Unfortunately the car stood outside there a lot for over half a year and got some salt while they transported it to my garage during winter.
Thats why I'm suspecting the grounding points. I heard one is under the battery?
...The ECU still works fine while driving though, very strange...

BTW: I wonder why your D630 doesn't work, I have also one (at least it looks the same). I think use it with an old windows XP installation, never made problems.

Hiya,
I have 3 D630's, one with XP, one with Win7 and the last dual boot with solid state drive, WinXP and 10.

I only wanted to mention it since I sort of remember Steveo saying he was done with pure serial. I could be wrong but I thought his stuff only works on 7 or higher and there was serial problems. I only had one of the 94-95 pcms on the bench for a couple days. I could only test stuff for a little time, yuck.

Steveo's stuff looks awesome, I wish I had a car to play with. A 95 TA would be pretty cool :)

setting an 8192 baud rate is an issue for many serial drivers

either way a usb ttl interface is so cheap there's no need to use anything else

I probably did a new installation before I started, I try to use a USB adapter tomorrow 👍
Thanks for the hint :)
