Hello, I recently programmed a Buick with GM SPS2 software. 2 minutes into the programming, it failed. Now the ECU is a no comm. I would like to know if anyone on here could share the boot pin location on this module. Service number is 12583827 and Hardware number is 12582720. Vehicle is a 2005 Buick LeSabre. I am editing because I was just informed that this is a P04 not a P01. Maybe only way is by JTAG.

I haven't messed with the "clear" connector pcm's for many years(p04, e54 diesel, etc). Well worth your time to just get a junkyard pcm. This time, make sure you have a clean power supply of at least 12v. The "boot" pin technique is right there, just not in the same spot. Read and save so you can find the seed/key. Very common to see the parameters area messed up. If it is truly fubar, then only choice is BDM.

My BDM repair station if you need it :)

Special thanks to NSFW for the cad drawings so I could have it printed.

Carl,

Thank you for the BDM photos. That is pretty cool. This is more of an experiment than anything. The vehicle got another PCM and we programmed with TIS2000 on the bench. I will likely remove the Flash chip, proxy load it with another file then use TIS2000 to get the correct files loaded. I am waiting on an adapter to work with my AR32a programmer.

Yes, forgot to mention the "chip" removal option. It's very doable once you get an adapter for your programmer. The copper solder braid and some resin to "clean" the chip too :)
