View Full Version : 305 to 350 Swap - AWFY to AUJP - 7730 ECM

Can someone validate my thinking here or point out the problem? I burned AUJP onto a sst 27sf512 chip, installed the chip on a G1 and started the car. It runs like garbage. Idles at 2000 rpm, stalls immediately when you put it in gear.

It runs and drives okay with the stock 305 memcal but really doesn’t pull. It acts like it’s only got 5-6 degrees of timing or else it’s very lean when you floor it. Car bogs and accelerates slowly.

I am working on a 91 Z28 Camaro with an original 305 that’s been swapped over to a 350. The ECU is 1227730.

The stock memcal is AWFY. I attached the read out of the bin as read with moates autoprom. I’m using $8D xdf and adx files. The stock bin has some funky stuff with the 8D mask. Like 0 degrees of timing at WOT and a stoich value of some crazy number (certainly not close to 14.7).

Any advice? I’m thinking if I find a AUJP memcal and add some injectors from a 350 then it should run well. No need for tuning. It’s a stock 350 from a 90 or 91 third gen Camaro.

Let's start with did you use offsets (http://support.moates.net/programming-chips-using-offsets/) or stacked the bin???

Only one bin on the file. Not stacked. I selected the 27sf512 chip in the drop down menu from TunerPro, which has always been ok for me in the past.

Any ideas on why that bin file I read off looks so strange? If you open it up under any 8D definition file and poke around you will find plenty of odd settings. I’m wondering if my autoprom hardware has gone buggy.
