Looking at doing a motor and transmission from a 1999 suburban using a 411 ecm into my 72 GMC pickup. My question is if the transmission section of the file for a 2002 express van works for the 99 4L60E? I have looked for and can find bin files for a suburban but those files do not list the xdf to use in tuner pro so I could view the transmission settings. If anyone has a bin and xdf for a L31 4L60E Sububan 4x4 I would like to get those files as well. Any other pointers for a newbie?

Was there a 4l60 In the express van? If you don't know read the bin from it. If it's a 4l80, you will have to segment swap. It's really straight forward with universal Patcher. Newest version is at universalpatcher.net.

To seg swap, you need to find the os number of your bin, you will need a bin with the same os and a 4l60.
You will want to keep the express van tune for the l31, unless you want to convert to a 24x crank wheel

Also the 2002 trans calibration should be more refined than previous years, you can change shift points and tcc lockup and speedo settings, I wouldn't mess with much else

So a 2002 4l60E Factory tune like came in my donor 411 which was removed from a 2002 Yukon L59 4x4 truck should work? I am new to tuning and just want to get the the cab set on the 99 chassis wire it and get it running as a daily driver hopefully by spring.

Possibly the flash from a 2002 Chevy Express Van 5.7 / 4L60E is an option?

According to Wikpedia the Express Van had original equipment 5.7 engine and 4L60E. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Express

RockAuto is showing the 2002 Express Van with 5.7 has the '0411 PCM.

The challenge I see with a 2002 L59 flash is the Coil-on-Plug ignition system that uses a 24x crank position sensor. The L31 (1996 - 2002) uses a distributor and a 4x crank position sensor.

If it was my project, I would look here for a 2002 Express Van 5.7 / 4L60E .bin file. http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Injection/showthread.php?1513-2002-TunerPro-Bin-Files

Just adding additional info. Everything I have seen seems to point that 1500 came with 4l60, and 2500 & 3500 Vans came with 4l80

The attached .bin is VIN 1GBFG15R421139312

Perhaps decoding the VIN will help determine the authenticity of the attached .bin.

A quick Google search shows a 1500 van with l31

As far as I know the only thing that might be different are weather or not max allowed torque tables are populated for 4wd and low range. A long with shift tables for 4wd.

All the files I have personally looked at show the same values for 4wd as 2wd.

4X4 vehicles also have correct gear ratio for the transfer case and will set a flag in 4Low so speed signals are calculated correctly.

I'm guessing you downloaded the files posted in this thread?

http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Injection/showthread.php?9132-L31-411-4x4-swap

Here's a thread with a '99 Tahoe 5.7 / 4L60E calibration:
http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Injection/showthread.php?1510-1999-TunerPro-Bin-Files&p=70989&viewfull=1#post70989

Definition files are not easy to find, though.

If you haven't already committed to the 0411 pcm, there's an option to use an OE calibration from an L31 / 1Mb vehicle. It's manual trans so you'd need to segment swap.

Good luck with the swap!
