Hello from Houston Texas!
Complete novice to tuning and doing my first LS swap on a budget. L59 from a 2003 Suburban into a 1981 2wd K5 Blazer. Got a VXNano, an ebay bench harness and a PCM from a Salvage 2003 Tahoe to learn with before I start playing with the original PCM.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a good plan to get started. I've found it very helpful to have a dedicated laptop as well.

I've had one stashed since I started down this road because it had a serial port and when i started that was a requirement to get them connected to the PCM reliably. Just booted it up and realized that it is still running XP and I cant run most of the programs out now  luckily my wife had an old HP laptop she was willing to sell me. Anyone in the market for a Dell Latitude D830 with all the bells and whistles? :homer:

So investigating my donor PCM I discovered I have one without a corresponding xdf (12579405)needed to tune with Tuner pro. Has anyone had any luck in using 12587603 with a 2003 l59 and flex fuel working? I originally started down this path expecting to just get a J2534 scanner and tuner pro to disable vats and some of the emissions and be done. looks like that is not going to happen now. Do I return the scanner and find a local tuner to do it for me?
