Hiya,
I have been handed a sack of potatoes - and I'm hoping I can make potato salad.
A friend brought me his recent purchase, begging for help. A 1987 Jaguar XJ6 with LT1 swap - and it was a hackjob swap in the beginning, then hacked on even more by some slob. Very sad.
I'm hoping to make some great connections here, gain some knowledge, learn from guys smarter than me, drink some coffee, have some laughs, send this poor Jaguar on its merry way, drink a beer - and try to live another
day.
Through the wonderful world that is the interwebnet I've pieced together some understanding of the wiring diagram, but I could use some pointers where to get a real grown-up version.
Digging around I believe I've correctly wired in an ALDL connector and a check engine light. Now I need to communicate with the DELPHI PCM onboard.
Check engine light is on all the time
Cooling fans on all the time
High idle for a long time before it calms down to something near reasonable. I'm scared to drive it, haven't tried yet.
These issues and more I'll be tackling while I dig through the forums here.
