A major question:

Switching to a 16197427 to run a 4L80e.

My read is I can get any 7427 and just reprogram it, is that right??

So can I just load the basic operating system for a 350V8, for a 4L80e.

OR do I NEED to get a 7427 from a truck that had a 4L80e??

I can find 16197427s everywhere reasonable BUT no one can tell me anything about the van or truck they came out of.

They cannot tell me what transmission, engine of even if it was even running when hit.

My old friend who had a junk yard would often say when asked if a part was any good, “Well it was moving when it hit something.” He could then show you to car or truck it came out of. Sadly he passed 7 years ago and wife sold yard.

Using a 5.7 liter .bin file $OE or $31 (4L80E definitions) will work.

There are differences between V6 and V8 MEMCALS, so using a V8 MEMCAL is good plan.

Maybe the information from the Ebay auctions posted below will help you find an all numbers matching 16197427 / 4L80E PCM?

So I now have three 427 PCMs with the 4L80s eproms, and for 350s out of 93/95/92 G20 van and truck.

I have an adapter plug to go from a 4L60e to the 4L80e.

The main question is what do I need to wire a 427 for the 8 injectors.

And are there any changes needed to the PCM.
