I have a 99 LM7 9379910 ECU which is not supported, so I am using OS12212156 - 2002 512kB PCM XDF file, and a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado Truck Auto LM7 5.3L (12212156) bin. File do I need to clone this or do I just write it to my ecu via LS Droid? Thanks

If you don't care that the VIN inside your 1999 LM7 ECU will change then clone it - cloning will change everything to what's inside your 2156 BIN. I usually clone because we don't have strict emissions pollution control laws in Louisiana.

THanks Rick, is there any good write ups on how to clone with ls droid? This is my first time ever doing any ecu flashing, also in my bin and xdf file when in tuner pro it gives me the option to change the vin too i found? Not that it matters as this engine is now in a toyota.

so once i am done with changing everything i want and save the new bin,(12212156) then with ls droid on my phone via Bluetooth , thats where i choose to clone and send to the ecu?

I use LS Droid and PCM Hammer for the actual writing of the BIN file to a PCM. Several good You Tube videos explain them both, step by step. For every BIN that I've seen, Tuner Pro RT strongly cautions AGAINST changing the VIN with TP RT software. If I want to change the VIN to something particular, I use PCM Hammer for that - but I don't care about the VIN here in Louisiana in a vehicle that only has a 13 character long, pre-1981 VIN anyway.

Then you have done something wrong that Tuner Pro warned you against or you don't have the correct checksum DLL file installed. If you wish to stick with this BIN file, you can repair it with a program called "Universal Patcher" - URL link below.

The checksum DLL file goes with Tuner Pro RT, not LS Droid. I never had to pay for LS Droid for Android on my phone.
