Hey Guys

I am doing an engine swap on my 95 S10. It's a 4.3 TBI Z motor, 4L60 2wd. It has the ALDL connector with the ECM behind the glovebox. Some refer to it as OBD 1.5 which I'm not sure is accurate but it's not OBDII and not a flash code either.

So not sure if this matters but the engine has a linear EGR valve and a pair of knock sensors, one on each side of the block.

I am swapping a 95' K1500 Suburban 5.7 engine which is TBI as well. My issue is the EGR and knock sensors. The 5.7 has a vacuum actuated EGR and a single knock sensor.

Since the bolt pattern on the EGR valves are different I'm either stuck trying to figure out how to wire the vacuum solenoid in or deleting it. I'm in NH so inspection wise it doesn't matter and I don't really care of it's in place. But if I delete it I would like to do it right and get the software so I can delete the trouble codes and deactivate it within the tune.

Any input on what to do with the EGR and knock situations?

Also, my engine did not come with a computer. I bought a chip on eBay which I'm hoping will work. But I'm unsure if it will work correctly if I bolt the pair of V6 knock sensors onto the V8 or just retain the one V8 knock sensor.

the # off the pcm would be helpful. i suspect it is a '7427, which will run the 350 just fine with the correct calibration. if it was obd 1.5 you would have the pcm under the hood and CPI.

Looks to be a 427 PCM which seems to be a pretty good unit right?

So looks like it should have wiring to work with either a vacuum controlled or linear EGR right? They are both in the wiring diagram. Seems like the trucks would have either one or the other. Maybe a delete and reprogram would be the easiest solution?

i would just find a stock calibration that meets your engine type (available on this site) if you have access to burn chips. if not try and source a calpak (or the whole PCM) out of a 94/95 C/K truck with 5.7L & 4L60E.
