Hello,
Just started chip burning with the moates apu1. I am able to burn the chip and verify but after install and 2 min warm up the CEL blinks and car goes into limp mode.
I have tried two different chips and the emulator on the apu1.
1989 Firebird TBI
1228746 ECU
27SF512 chip
moates apu1
g2 adapter with ziff on ECU
I have a separate ECU running the factory chip AXKT.bin and it runs fine. I have tried a downloaded bin, the bin I read from the chip and both give CEL.
I am using the $61.xdf if that matters.

The 27SF512 chip is 64K. The AXKT chip is 4K. What offsets are you using when you burn the 27SF512 with a 4K chip?

Thanks Dave,
I have been emailing moates tech support for a week back and forth. I de soldered the g2 and removed the ziff. Checked on the pins and re soldered everything.
They ran check sums on the bin for me. I use the moates flash and burn instead of the tunerpro program and when you load the file to buffer in the read/write utility it sees the file is 4k and when you select the chip 27SF512 it assigns the chip addressing of 4k (4096)
27SF512
000000 -> 000FFF
00F000 -> 00FFFF
Which is the same as the moates site. But I have burned the chips with the auto assigned values and manually entered values and both from the turnerpro rt interface and the flash and burn utility from two separate cpus a windows 7 laptop and a windows 10 pc. Same problem.
My next step is to get another ECU and de solder the chip and place a 24 pin for the apu1 emulator and run straight from the apu1 to the ECU. That way I can swap the factory chip and emulator out to rule out the ECU.
Thanks,
Keith

I posted this back in 2011, maybe this type of 27SF517 Chip Conversion is an option? http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Injection/showthread.php?172-7747-Flash-Chip-Conversion-(27SF512)

Dave,
Thanks for the info. So the g2 adapter just jumps a couple of pins on the end. I will do this with a 28 pin socket I have on the new ECU I get. I also ordered some new chips.
