No matter if im tuning a TBI, TPI, LT1, LT4, LS based, "tue LS" or the new LT motors would it be a good idea to follow the steps in this link? I understand 94 LT1s and any motor newer you dont have to mess with the chips physically, just flash n go..so obviouslly that part of the link does not apply. http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Injection/showthread.php?149-Where-do-you-start-when-tuning-a-chip-Update-10-24-2011 I am learning more and more and more each day thanks to you all.

My next question: can i take a 94-95 $EE PCM and repin it to any of those engines I mentioned above? reason for doing so would be the ease of use thanks to eehack and flashack (ty Steveo) as well as cost to tune as its essentially just the cost of an aldl and Tunerpro to make the actual edits, instead of all the hardware needed for tbi, tpi, new lt and ls. Again im still learning, please spare snide comments, Thanks, AJ

You can run this PCM on any V8 engine, as long as You adapt proper sensors for high and low resolution signal. Just disassemble one Opti distributor and finding a solution is quite easy.

the LT1 EE ECM is not easy to adapt and there are way better ECMs these days

the LS ecms are more easily adapted and sensors/etc are available

tuning them can be pretty cheap too, you can use tunerpro with pcmhammer, or LSDroid, with an OBDXPRO cable. or spend some money on a commercial tool such as hptuners. it's not THAT expensive

appreciate the response Steveo. I haven’t messed with LS tuning yet, just heard the software / hardware is expensive wasn’t sure exactly what all was required or the cost. It’s be interesting if we’d start a thread and people who wanted drop their rough location and we could plan a meet and greet where we could talk tuning, pass along tips, put faces to names, etc..just an idea! :)
