Hi I need some help writing my ECU to delete vats so I can start it. I purchased this van with a blinking security light and a warning from the owner. Not knowing much about passlock I ignored until it died and required a tow home. It won't take a relearn and the light is on steady.

It is a 12200411 pcm but this OS doesn't come up with google search. I don't know how to create an xdf to delete vats. The XDFs that are close to my van with 5.7 and 4l80e don't pass checksum in unerPro. I have most of the tools but need direction. Can I flash it with a different OS/xdf pair? Please help thank you!

Sorry you are stuck. If it's VATS it will usually start and die and then no re-start until you cycle the key giving it a few seconds within.

If you can read the stock file and post it, there are quite a few capable people able to help reply with a VATS delete file to reply with :)

btw, it is very common for those crank sensors to fail. The cam sensor can also be a problem. Try to buy Delphi before AC Delco and definitely before Standard, and if Standard, never if the part number ends in a T

Thanks for the replies. That's exactly what's happening starts strong dies immediately after. I verified fuel pressure. I have unfortunately been through the key relearn process without success. That would be sweet here is my bin. Good thought on the sensors. It was running with a new crank sensor when it died but I put the old one back in.

I ended up buying a used module on eBay just to confirm and see if I can get it running... but I'd also like to tune it out completely.

Not sure why I'm even doing this as I'm pretty disgusted trying to help people here, but here is your bin with VATS turned off.

Really cool of you to do that! I will try it and report back. I would love to be able to do this myself, and give back to others. The farthest I got was generating an XDF with universal patcher, which shows the VTD_Configuration at 0x1FBBC address. Can you help me with the process for doing this so I can learn? Thanks 2xLS1!!

To turn off vats you need.

Open file in universal patcher.
click Tuner

In the filter box type VTD_confgiuration

Open the vtd configuration and change the setting to NONE from the drop down menu.
Save bin.

Now you have turned off vats.

So I just got this bin written and the van started immediately and stayed running! This whole thing was a huge process and I can't thank you all enough.

Kur4o when I do this and save it then open the bin in TunerPro I am seeing a value of 1 (PWM enabled VATS) not a 2 like I was expecting. I still want to get this figured out myself. Thoughts?

It could be because you are using older version of the software.
You can get the latest version here.
